Kaprun water reservoirs

The alpine reservoirs, including the Wasserfallboden and Mooserboden reservoirs, located at an altitude of about 2040 meters above sea level, are one of the most impressive constructions of the post-war period. Two lakes lie in the upper valley of Kaprun as two fjords. They are located among the three thousand peaks of the Alps, on the edge of the Hohe Tauern National Park. They will captivate you with their color. During the trip, you will also learn more about the technical background of the reservoirs. This can be interesting especially for families with children, who will learn more about electricity production in a playful way at the "Electricity Trail" experience stations.
